Christie Campus Health Joins MTV and More Than 1,750 Organizations Nationwide in Support of the Third Annual National Mental Health Action Day

Christie Campus Health announces its participation in this year’s third-annual Mental Health Action Day, Thursday, May 18, 2023, with more than 1,750 other leading companies, brands, nonprofits, and cultural leaders globally. Christie Campus Health is a proud founding partner of this national event.

Mental Health Action Day was started to shift mental health culture from awareness to action. The movement encourages companies and organizations to spread the message that we can take action to improve our mental health, just as we do with our physical health.

As the number of college students seeking mental health services continues to rise, the demand is outpacing the capacity at many schools nationwide. Christie Campus Health partners with institutions of higher education to help enhance mental health offerings to their students. A recent survey of over 3,500 students conducted by the University of Maryland School of Public Health (UMDSPH) found that nearly 80 percent of those receiving services provided by Christie Campus Health said the services helped them remain in school.

“Christie Campus Health is committed to our mission of partnering with colleges and universities to provide mental health services to students wherever they are in their mental health journey,” says Christie Campus Health Chief Clinical Officer Kaitlin Gallo, Ph.D. “We offer a wide range of services from our 24/7 Clinical Support Line, in-person therapy, and telehealth, as well as meditation and mindfulness apps and a Wellness Hub for students to improve their wellbeing. We share Mental Health Action Day’s philosophy that there are a variety of ways to take care of your mental wellbeing.”

Christie Campus Health is promoting Mental Health Action Day to all its college and university partners, reaching over 700,000 students at over 100 colleges and universities nationwide. In addition, it is engaging its employees in activities to support well-being, including an office visit from Beau, a one-year-old Goldendoodle, to boost the moods of staff during the workday.

Mental Health Action Day is coordinated by MTV Entertainment Group. More information and a current list of partners can be found at www.MentalHealthActionDay.org.
