Snead State Community College Offering Free Mental Health Support to Students through Partnership with Christie Campus Health

Christie Campus Health announces that it has partnered with Snead State Community College, a public community college in Boaz, Alabama, to offer its students access to a 24/7 Clinical Support Line, mental health counseling (in-person and teletherapy), a wellness hub, Navigators, the mindfulness and meditation app Headspace, and Internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy (ICBT) through SilverCloud. The platform will be available to the university’s over 2,000 undergraduate students.

“We are proud to be partnering with Snead State Community College and commend their leadership for recognizing the critical importance of prioritizing the mental health of college students,” says Christie Campus Health Chief Clinical Officer Kaitlin Gallo, Ph.D. “We believe these free resources will empower students to enhance their well-being, enabling them to focus on their academics.”

The 24/7 Clinical Support Line is staffed exclusively by licensed mental health counselors and offers students unlimited and immediate access to in-the-moment support, regardless of the time of day or student’s physical location. In-person and teletherapy care will expand the capacity of existing campus mental health resources by providing students with access to the largest national network of domestic and international licensed mental health providers. Christie Navigators support students and counseling staff by researching and identifying providers, treatment, and other resources that promote student success. Headspace is the leading meditation and mindfulness app that helps students build coping and resiliency skills. SilverCloud’s ICBT program gives colleges and universities an efficient, engaging way to offer students timely, on-demand, and clinically appropriate care. The Wellness Hub is an easy-to-use online and mobile experience where students receive student-curated educational content, including videos on a range of behavioral health and substance use issues. All services are free to students, reducing well-documented barriers to care, especially for students for whom care has been cost-prohibitive.

As the number of college students seeking mental health services continues to rise, the demand is outpacing the capacity at many counseling centers. Christie Campus Health’s program is tailored to support students as well as campus healthcare professionals by expanding and complementing on-campus mental health services. The program is managed by a highly experienced service team that partners with school counseling centers and other student services to maintain a seamless experience for students that ensures consistent communication, education, and tracking.
