Three Art, Music Colleges Now Offering Mental Health Support to Students through Partnership with Christie Campus Health

Christie Campus Health announces that it has partnered with two art schools and one music conservatory. Manhattan School of Music, Maryland Institute College of Art, and Laguna College of Art and Design will offer their students mental health services through Christie. All three will provide their students access to a 24/7 Clinical Support Line, and Laguna College will also offer mental health counseling (in-person and teletherapy) and Navigators.

“We are proud to partner with these three institutions that focus on the arts and applaud their leadership for recognizing the importance of providing mental health resources to their students,” says Christie Campus Health Chief Clinical Officer Kaitlin Gallo, Ph.D. “We anticipate these services will play a pivotal role in helping students maintain their mental well-being, empowering them to flourish academically and creatively.”

Christie Campus Health has a history of building successful relationships with art and music institutions, including Montserrat College of Art, New England Conservatory, Colburn School of Music, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

“Christie Campus Health has offered peace of mind to our organization during a really difficult time,” says Elisabeth Reickert, Montserrat College of Art’s Director of Counseling. “We know that no that no matter what, there is someone students can call to be able to help them with anything they need.”

The 24/7 Clinical Support Line is staffed exclusively by licensed mental health clinicians and offers students unlimited and immediate access to in-the-moment support, regardless of the time of day or student's physical location. In-person and teletherapy care will expand the capacity of existing campus mental health resources by providing students with access to the largest national network of domestic and international licensed mental health providers. Christie Navigators support students and counseling staff by researching and identifying providers, treatment, and other resources that promote student success. All services are free to students, reducing well-documented barriers to care, especially for students for whom care has been cost-prohibitive.

As the number of college students seeking mental health services continues to rise, the demand is outpacing the capacity at many counseling centers. Christie Campus Health's program is tailored to support students and campus healthcare professionals by expanding and complementing on-campus mental health services. The program is managed by a highly experienced service team that partners with school counseling centers and other student services to maintain a seamless student experience that ensures consistent communication, education, and tracking.

One University’s Path Towards Supporting More Students

Like so many institutions of higher education across the United States, Salem State University has doubled down on their efforts to support the ever-growing mental health and wellness needs of their students. Salem State has a highly diverse student population with a significant percentage of students managing jobs and family responsibilities while attending classes. Coming to a traditional on-campus counseling center to access support is not always feasible for Salem State students when they’re struggling, nor is mental health counseling indicated for every student who experiences personal challenges.
