Adam C. Powell, Ph.D.

Adam C. Powell, Ph.D. is President of Payer+Provider Syndicate, a management advisory and operational consulting firm focused on the managed care and healthcare delivery industries. A health economist by training, much of his work addresses issues related to quality and reimbursement in the context of digital mental health. He also has expertise related to prior authorization. Dr. Powell is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Medical Internet Research: Mental Health, the Scientific Advisory Board of One Mind PsyberGuide, and recently founded the Society for Digital Mental Health.

Outside of his consulting work, Dr. Powell actively lectures and publishes peer-reviewed research. He has taught courses related to health informatics and healthcare finance at Northeastern University, Thomas Jefferson University, and the Indian School of Business, and has been invited to speak on these topics in China, India, and the Maldives. He has been featured in over 200 commentaries in the popular and trade media, and is the author of over three dozen peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Powell holds a Doctorate and Master's degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Health Care Management and Economics. He also holds Bachelor's degrees in Management Science and Writing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
